I was born in Bogotá, a major city in Colombia, into a big family with a lot of relatives, though I’ve always been an independent person, have made my own decisions and have fronted things since I was a child. It helped me to see life in such a different way and also to face life as it comes.
During my adolescence, I used to work as a volunteer (years later I became part of the working staff) in NGOs and for the government too, which means that for many years I was a leader in those areas.
My proudest moments were when I could live alone without my parents’ tuition and also when I was working with vulnerable people such as the homeless, prostitutes and gangsters with the intention of helping them with their physical and psychological problems using, education as the main tool.
That experience changed my life and I realized that problems aren’t unique or impossible, while we think that the storm will never end. Furthermore it keeps going, however there’s always something to learn from it so we must be patient and appreciate everything we have.
The time before I came to Buenos Aires I wasn’t happy. Furthermore I was bored and also extremely sick. Despite this I decided to come and my life has changed drastically; I reformed all my concepts and my behaviors.
I love Argentina. This is the place that I enjoy living in and where I’m doing many interesting things like…
I work in a shoe store that has branches in Buenos Aires and Mar del Plata too; I work as a supervisor and administrator. I study Political Science at Buenos Aires University by distance and I’m also learning English and French in the Faculty of Philosophy and Letters.
I love to learn languages and I have such a good ability to learn fast, so I’m pretty happy with it. Perhaps I’m going to take it a bit more seriously. I’d like to be a teacher… why not? “If you never try you’ll never know… Next year I’ll see”.
I like sports, so I’m taking a swimming course and although I haven’t much time I try to appreciate it as much as possible.
One other thing… I’m a Reiki practitioner and Sonotherapist, thus I find that the only unchanging thing in the world is change itself. Life is continuously changing, evolving, dying and being reborn. The journey is long and it’s always safer not to go on that journey because the path is unknown, but in reality there is no security and nothing can be guaranteed. For me it is like you must be courageous enough to grow into the person you are meant to be, courageous enough to take responsibility for who you are and to live your truth.
Life constantly has a sort of things that we can’t explain, that we can’t understand but maybe it is because we just have to relax and say, “NO WORRIES”.
“We learned over the years that justice is only done in the heart. I don’t know if we are going to fall, I just know that love is persistent and comes back out as the sun”. León Gieco
