My profile

Hello everyone!

It´s not easy for me to present myself...but I will try!
I´m 31 years old, I was born in Portugal in a small town called Esmoriz, in the north of the country!
When I was 18 years old I went to Porto (in Portugal) to study economics in the University! I had a great time there: while I was studying I lived with some friends and I met lots of people!
After that I worked in a Bank firstly as a credit analist and after as an account manager for big companies.
Since one year I´m in Buenos Aires!

I like so many different things, probably because I´m geminis.....
I really love music (especially etnhic music and the mixture of many types). My lastest discovery (and love) is a group called "Nouvelle Vague"! I´m addicted to them!
I also stydied music for 11 years....During many times I sang in various chorus...and I even had a rock band! Crazy times!

I also like books and movies! It´s a great way to expand your vision!

More things I like: interior decoration, environment protection (specially the use of renewable sources of energy), dance, great food, the sea,.....and travelling!

I can say that I already know some countries: Turquie (Istambul is a great city), Spain, France (Bourdeax and Paris), London, Cuba, Dominican Republic, North Italy, Austria and now Argentine (a great country, so lovely and big)!

Well, right now I don´t remember nothing else....about me...

See you in class!

See you next week !

Hellow All.
As I said thru Voxopop, I seldon go to the cinema. On weekends I rather like getting away from Baires but in the rest of the week I am a litte lazybones to to get out .
I prefer watching Dvds or Tv, however if I have to go because my wife's pressure is huge I enjoy going the theater ( teather catch me more than cinema).
Time ago I wached, The Pride and the Prejudice , a beautiful british film based on the novel writen by Jane Austen. It is an excellent description about the rules and moral in the british upper class families two centuries ago.
Most of the film was sitting in an old farm house placed on the beauty of the England landscape.
I do not tell you any more else just in case you will decide to watch it . By the way it is possible to buy the Dvd. here in BsAs.
I strongly recommend you to see it , additionally the language is great.
bye bye

About films

I don't go to the cinema very often. I do it when someone recomend me a film or when I think that there is something that worths...
The latest film I saw was "The secret of his eyes", a thriller directed by Juan José Campanella.
I really liked it! I'm not a lover of Argentinian films, but I have to admit that this is a very good one.
The story is set in Argentina, and it's about a man (Ricardo Darín) that has already retired as a court employee.
He wants to write a novel, a real story that had happened to him about 30 years before, more exactly in 1974. A misterious murder that has never been solved.
His decision makes him face sad episodes from the past and of course, he meets his impossible love (Soledad Villamil)that he kept in silence for a long time.
All the details are shown by flashbacks that take you to the '70, a dark part of our history, where the power and the silence were the main allies.
Apart from that, the story is told with a great sense of humour, despite the horrible crime and some shocking scenes.
On the other hand, there is a very well done setting and a fantastic wardrobe. The characters play their roles in an impeccable way. I don't adore Guillermo Francella, but in this film he plays the role of a lovely drunkard.
I really recomend it!

Cecilia.

Franklin's Letter by Cecilia

Dear Thomas,

I have been sent to England as a representative of the American Assembly in order to defend the inner issues of Pennsylvania.
As you may know, French forces were moving forward in our region and those days were crucial to get our freedom. At that moment, Edward Braddock, a British commander, was in the States to capture Fort Duquesne, a French fortification in western Pennsylvania. But the problem was that Braddock was given no horses or wagons, so I thought that if I helped him, he could defeat French forces. For that reason, I tried to persuade farmers to lend their horses and wagons to him and his men.
It was a very difficult task, basically because the farmers didn't trust us. Finally, I was able to negotiate with them; but unfortunately, things were wrong and Braddock was killed and about one thousand of his men, too.
I have written all my experiences in a book that I called "my quire book". It is very important for me to keep it safe, so I have decided to give it to you in order to transcribe it. I'm sure that you will do the best.
These documents are very important to me, not only as a proof of my political value to Great Britain, but the assembly's loyalties are on the right side.
My dream is to liberate our country and to contribute for a better nation for every single man of these valuable lands.
Yours sincerely,
Benjamin Franklin
