Dear Thomas:
In such dangerous times I write you in the search of a secret and safe place that could guard some documents I have. I´ve been feeling unsafe lately because of a collection of letters I carry and that prove the efforts and dilligences I did in order to help General Edward Braddock. Eventhough I´ve been very carefuly, I´m sure that, sooner or later, someone will rob me in order to destroy this evidence. That´s why I beg you, dear friend, to copy them as soon as posible and keep them safe.
Shortly after arriving in London I received a letter sent by Mark Brown, the English General. In this letter he warned me that a conspiration had been made to incriminate me with the British authorities. In his opinion a group of French people were trying to spread the gossip that I had ignored General Braddock´s needs. He also explained to me that since I left Pennsylvania my biggest political opponent has been nagociating with the French army in exchange of new territories.
The reunions with the British government are passing a crucial moment and this lie could destroy my reputation and my life´s work.
I hope you could attend to my request. If so, I will be grateful for life. In an atachment to this letter, I send you a package containing the documents. After copying them, please send them back to me by express mail. The copies should be put in a secret and private place until needed.
Best regards,
Your friend Benjamin Franklin

This letter is the real letter, isn't it? I supposed you picked up from your garden our in another place in Portugal .Different newspapers all over Great Britain said that Benjamin Franklin used to go holidays to Porto .In addition of that some important jornalists agreed that the letter could be hiding into the grave in the land of Eusebio ,Fernando Pessoa and the famous Teresa "la magnifica".
